Finn was able to maintain his supernatural connection with June for the entire summer, but when school started in the fall, he learned of a catastrophe that devastated Long Island in September of 1938, killing hundreds of people. He knew he had to somehow warn her of the approaching danger before it was too late to save her and her family. Changing history has consequences.
