Throughout this book Corey takes you on a vivid journey throughout the streets of Baltimore. In book two he describes in detail the streets and bars of Alongapo City located right outside of Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines. The author also gives graphic details about the relationships that he and his fellow Marines encounter while stationed in the P.I. In book three after finally growing to become a leader, Lance Corporal Johnson has to prepare himself emotionally to be discharged and separated from the close Marine brotherhood of B Company.
