He drinks it and goes to the rest room. 46th is asleep and dreams that he is walking down a dark corridor of the White House. He hears voices coming from the Treaty Room and sees a light. The seven Founding Fathers are in the room: George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Jay, Alexander Hamilton and Benjamin Franklin. 46th hears the voice of George Washington. He asks how it could happen that the question of who should be president became the most important. A. Hamilton joins the conversation and says that he always proposed electing the president for life. T. Jefferson: We do not have democracy, we have a republic. Rule by the best with the approval of the people. Democracy always turns out to be the tyrrany of the majority. I, says B. Franklin, initially proposed to put a committee of three members at the head of the country. In a multy-power, there is always a split,-- A. Hamilton answers him. J. Madison: A republic is a negation of monarchy and must be a collective government. J.
