I have been in the nursing field for thirty years and have seen the same hopes, dreams, fears, and sense of humor across every culture and race. This book is a collection of poems I started writing mostly while at work in the emergency room between caring for patients. Poetry touches us all in different ways. Poetry is a connection of feelings expressed to remind people we are not alone in our journey. They show hope, love, sadness, and dreams. Everyone can relate to the intense joy and heartache of being in love.

Mary Rodriguez is a Registered Nurse currently working in the SICU. She recently returned to the United States from working at a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She has an Associates degree and is working toward her Masters Degree as a Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys obstacle racing, kickboxing, collecting comics and spending time with family and friends. She has two grown sons and a daughter-in-law that live in Virginia. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
