The Night Runners is a collection of poetry work. It does not seek to address any single genre or style, in fact, the individual works range from personal relationships to community and social, to religion, politics and some in betweens. Love in our African society is a complex thing, and the way we deal with it is amazingly diverse culturally. Some of these experiences are explored from the very innocent, to problems that creep up in marriage or "serious relationships". Politics is also another subject that is explored, from individual interactions to political rallies and our expectations as voters from those that we intend to or have put into office. There are also some cultural practices unique to some of our communities that are really misunderstood, and one of them forms the title of this manuscript.
