She didn't want him there without her after the horrors they had both experienced in the past. They were to get an early start the next day, but when Jodie awoke the next morning she found a note propped up against the toaster. It's all down the 'rabbit hole' from there, as Jodie sets out to save Simon when his call from inside the mansion ends in a sudden, ominous silence.
