Muhammad was born in 570 and died in 632. In addition to preaching the message of Allah in the east of the Arabic peninsula, he ruled a small state which included the cities of Medina and Mecca that fell into his power in the year 630. His successors conquered an extensive amount of territory in a short period of time, reaching Spain in 711.
