Gnome encounters a ruthless one-eyed hunter and a were-lioness, and an abominable monster named Gruder is released into the city. In this confusing and dangerous atmosphere, a young Meriden named Petric arrives and asks for the heroes' help. His village elder, Alzbeda, is missing, he has gold and transport, and he comes at just the right time for the group to get out of Rockmoor.
