The three volumes of 'Man's Horizons A Universal Perspective on Mankind through the Ages' endeavour to present the nucleus of information needed to make up a broad-based foundation of knowledge that every 21st century person should possess. Together, these books lay down a chronological perspective of the universe's lifecycle from its birth at the beginning of time to its eventual demise. Man's place in the universe is reviewed with specific regard to the compatibility of our civilised system with a biological planet. At this time we remain a disparate global society lost in a vast wilderness, with each nation navigating its own path. The greater global community has yet to conceptualise the common objectives and goals that are necessary to maximise our wellbeing and vindicate our existence.
Volume I provides an understanding of how the universe originated and subsequently developed to form galaxies and solar systems including an exceptional planet known to us as Earth. This is followed by the amazing story of the rise of life and the evolution of the Human species.
Volume II The Macro History of Mankind is an insight into the 7,000 year rise and fall of clans, kingdoms, nations and empires in their struggle to control the populace and take their land. The focus is on the great leaders that built Egypt, China, Persia, Greece and Rome, all of who orchestrated human destiny. It was this ever-changing yet unceasing quest for global domination that polarised the nations of the modern world.
In Volume III, two future scenarios are considered. In the first, we proceed along our current path, the Old Road, maximising human wealth and ignoring Man's impact on the Earth. In so doing, we expose the generations that follow to a host of severe and possibly insoluble problems. In the second scenario, sapient anthropoids revise their morality, undertake global design and by way of the New Road, strive to reach an idealised human state, referred to as Super-Civilisation. Based on a new philosophical disposition, the latter chapters proceed to analyse current challenges and propose common goals for all nations to achieve a far better world.
