The book follows the story of a young Haredi Jew name Yosef Gershom. His hand disability is the result of a congenital problem in his foramen magnum and cerebellum that causes a neurological difficulty in moving his hands. As described in the title, this malformation is in his neck. Just in the Neck of Time comes from phrase 'just in the nick of time' and is simply clever wordplay, though the story handles the situation of the neurosurgeon's experiments as a medium for showing ancestral memory. This memory, in its own way, is time travel and experiencing that time through the neck justifies the title's creative license. Other matters dealt with is alien culture, as there is an alien species discovered in this galaxy on an exoplanet known as Gamyadoved. A Gamyadovedi woman and Gershom engage in a romantic relationship which is one of the high points of the story. A short story, Yosef and Ninilay: A Ha-Neck-Ah Romance is also included in the compendium. As can be derived from the title, it takes place during the holiday of Hanukkah. The work is set mainly at the Martian Institute of Technology, an accredited university set at a colonial research base on Mars . Modern social issues are discussed in its confines in its own literary style. Additional stories and upcoming novels are allotted in the compendium in hope that I may gain a following and the readership improves. What you will read includes the extending of the Just in the Neck of Time story, Dissidents in Diasporic Space. Other titles I am working on, the following one being the most promising, is Conrad, a dystopian novel set after the fall of man due to the repercussions of the effects of the untreated Climate Crisis. Conrad Corvin is a descendant of the American Crow and is born into a society that has evolved into a feudal monarchical government similar to the human Medieval period. He discovers the remnants of subterranean humanity and is captured by the humans and is then used to rescue a human captive in a Corvid imperial prison. That is the call to action, I will let you read the rest. The compendium also includes 2084, Zwischen die Blaue und das Graue, Atol Graham, and The Fall of Khazaria. I will warn there are historical and some public scientific figures referenced in this work, usually in a referential way. My handling of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict predates the current political climate around the region and what has happened after the events of October 7th 2023. It may be taken as offensive or under-considered, but I tried to handle it in an educated manner. I hope you enjoy the new compendium and share it with people near you who have an invested interest.
