When he arrives in America, landing at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, he quickly realizes that he is now in a new world, far from the life he lived in Africa, culture shock staring him eyeballs to eyeballs. They are later released when police found out that the said substance is his foodstuff, and no apologies offered. Finally, Emeka seeks love on foreign soil and might find it in Nicole who he met at a laundry mart, but a miscarriage of justice and his arrest for crimes he didn't commit throws his future into chaos. Despite all his challenges and misconception of America notwithstanding, Emeka still persevered to pursue the golden fleece, earning his MBA and then his Ph.D. in pharmacy, happily married and become an American Citizen.
