BASOLO Fulvio is professor of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Pisa. His research activity focuses mainly on thyroid cytopathology and molecular pathology of thyroid nodules and tumors. He leaded several national and international research projects, and contributed to writing of the Italian guidelines for oncological treatment of thyroid cancer. He has authored more than 350 papers on international journals. CRESCENZI Anna is a Medical doctor specialized in Anatomic Pathology and is Associate Professor of pathology at Department of Radiological Sciences, Oncology and Anatomical Pathology, Sapienza University of Rome. Member of national and international board for guidelines for thyroid pathology diagnosis and management. Received grants as PI from Italian Ministry of Health. Author of 155 papers on international peer reviewed journals. FADDA Guido is professor of Pathology at Università degli Studi di Messina, Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia. He has authored 206 papers on international journals. FRASOLDATI Andrea is Head of Endocrinology Unit at Azienda Ospedaliera Santa Maria Nuova di Reggio Emilia. He has authored 62 papers on international journals. NARDI Francesco former Professor of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University Sapienza, Rome. He has authored 118 papers on international journals. PALOMBINI Lucio is professor emeritus Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University Federico II, Naples. He is Director of “Centro Barberio” Pathology Laboratory. He has authored 127 papers on international journals. PAPINI Enrico is Scientific Director of the Regina Apostolorum Hospital – Lifenet Health in Albano, Rome, and Consultant Endocrinologist in the Institution. The scientific contributions, covering more than 200 original manuscripts in English language, textbook chapters and Italian and International Thyroid and Endocrinology Guidelines in the following areas: Ultrasound (US) assessment of thyroid gland: From the early 1990s, EP proposed this technique as a major diagnostic tool for thyroid nodules and defined the main US risk features for thyroid malignancy. Minimally invasive treatments for thyroid lesions: EP pioneered thyroid interventional procedures, with ethanol and thermal ablation, for benign thyroid nodules and nonsurgical management of thyroid cancer recurrences and microcarcinomas. PONTECORVI Alfredo is Professor of Endocrinology, Catholic University of Rome. He is Head of Endocrinology and Internal Medicine Unit at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS. He has authored 397 papers on international journals.
