"Hungry Minds" is a story about childhood bullying and how a love of reading and fictional characters saved my life as I was frequently isolated and often depressed. Much of the bullying I experienced in childhood was related to being the biracial child of interracial parents, but the story is focuses on bullying related to being a shy and studious child. While the type of bullying I experienced is less prevalent now, many children experience bullying today. My heart goes out to them.
