The discussions between the two men become much more than just a doctrinal debate, as individuals, families and churches are ultimately involved. It's a story of brotherly love and respect as the two men share their understandings and convictions.
All Believers are subject to being deceived, which is why the Apostle Paul repeated his warning "Do not be deceived." Our own biases and upbringing so often cause us to not see what is clearly stated in God's Book. But if we are to hope to see clearly enough to help get the speck from our Brother's eye, we must stay diligent to get the beam out of our own eye!
