Returning to America, hard times hit Americaalong with the rest of the world with the Great Depression of the 1930s. The book describes the life of this coal miner, his wife, raising five boys through these hard times of the depression years and beyond. He lived to be 100 years old, achieving his American Dream, not in riches but in Love of family. He was born on 1886 and passed away in 1985, 37 days short of his 100th birthday.
