VERN THORNTON, a former newsman, obtained the rank of colonel and chief deputy sheriff in Florida's Broward County Sheriff's Office. Upon his retirement, he became associated with the Florida Attorney-General's Office, where he established a national award winning program protecting senior citizens against fraud and scams committed by unsavory businesses resulting in millions of dollars being returned to elderly victims. The result of this book led to writing others. This is the author's fifth published book.
