A dying plant whose inhabitants are not convinced the planet is dying. They will need to chose to stay or leave their home with a strange ship with people much different than themselves. While at home the Earth Confederation will deal with an old enemy who continues to raid vessels. The battles will also test the strength and resolve of the Confederation.
