Even though I was in danger for my life, I felt strangely safe and secure. Balan broke away from me, breathing heavily. "We cannot stay here. It is not safe. You must come with me. I am risking my life to save you, but this is what I must do." He stood, pulling me up against him. "We need to leave here. He took the cloth and wrapped it in something resembling a turban. "Come, we need to leave. Someone will be coming to find out why I have not returned with you for the ceremony."
