Plants have green pigments, which are quite useful in the process of photosynthesis. In the presence of light, plants make their food with the help of minerals, water and carbon dioxide, in their green leaves, in the form of carbohydrates. The food prepared in green leaves is transported to different parts of the plant by phloem.
