They operate in the shadows and dark places where others cannot go, within the law, and otherwise to complete their mission and obtain information, whatever the cost.
Joyce is eventually persuaded by her friend to leave this abusive man, and to begin a new life with new opportunities working for this exclusive group of individuals. Earlier in her life, Joyce had been able to navigate her way through complex equasions and decipher text with ease, numbers leapt off the screen and spoke to her, but had she lost any of her talents through years of the worst kind of treatment, had her skills deserted her, would she even be up to the task?
