At first, the picturesque Canadian town seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. The people were friendly, the pace was slow, and Jack could almost forget the turmoil he had left behind. There were plenty of signs of patriotism, with large, red maple leaves on the wall, and place names like 'We Support Our Local Police', etc. He spent his days strolling the charming main street, sampling pastries from the local bakery, and watching the world go by from a cozy table at the Beantown Coffee Shoppe.
It was there, amidst the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee, that Jack's vacation took an unexpected turn. Huddled in the corner over a double cappuccino, he overheard a group of locals engaged in a heated discussion. As he strained to make out their hushed voices, one phrase caught his attention - "the Minister is dead." His investigator's instincts piqued; Jack sidled up to the group to inquire further.
