This is a precondition to achieve and maintain business process excellence. However, the execution of successful change management has been extremely dif ficult. Many initiatives failed because of an unclear scooping and a missing defi nition of deliverables. Only the comprehensive design of the business processes to be improved creates a basis for a focused management of change. Change man agement can then be handled as a process by itself. It becomes measurable and can be controlled. It is an integral part of business process lifecycle management.
