About the Author Kris Eichstaedt
Kris Eichstaedt is a professional freelance copywriter with 20+ years of experience researching and writing about CBD, cannabis, alternative and traditional medicine, law, affiliate marketing, travel, pets, and food. She specializes in writing content for articles, websites, and blogs.
When not working, she enjoys her home in the mountains with her partner and their fur kid rescues. She loves nature and when the snow disappears, you can find her fishing, camping, kayaking, riding in or on motorized toys, and rescuing snakes on the dirt roads in their neighborhood before they get run over. She listens to many types of music, builds DIY guitars and "sort-of" plays. She prefers wearing jeans, boots, and t-shirts with amusing sayings and has multiple tattoos.
Since 2017, Kris has been deeply involved in hydroponic and soil gardening, cultivating vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers, and a small medicinal cannabis and CBD crop. What began as a simple curiosity quickly evolved into a lifelong passion for sustainable and efficient food production.
Eichstaedt's journey into hydroponics was driven not only by a love for fresh produce but also by a personal quest for better health. At the age of 18, a car accident resulted in chronic pain in her back, hips, and neck. For years, prescription painkillers such as oxycodone and tramadol were necessary to manage daily life. However, in her 40s, Eichstaedt discovered medical marijuana and CBDnatural alternatives that enabled a complete transition away from pharmaceutical painkillers.
Through extensive research and experimentation, Eichstaedt developed a personalized pain management system incorporating CBD tinctures, gummies, and vaping. As she cultivated her first CBD and medical marijuana plants, the potential of hydroponics became clear. This space-saving, high-yield growing method provided the opportunity to grow medicine and food year-roundright from her basement. Fortunately, residing in a state where cultivation is legal made this journey possible.
Basement Hydroponics is Eichstaedt's way of sharing years of experience and knowledge. Whether the goal is to grow fresh veggies, fruits or herbs, this book serves as a guide to building a thriving indoor garden. She plans to add more books focusing on individual aspects of Basement Hydroponics, as well as, books in print, audio and other languages.
