After a meteor destroys most of Earth's reptilian inhabitants, the Galactic Council votes to protect the planet. Mara, an archangel who believes death is the natural order, rebels, vowing to prove that all physical worlds must perish. Leaving the Council, he recruits interstellar mercenaries, builds bases on the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter's moons, and begins planning to forge a weapon powerful enough to erase Earth from existence.
To counter him, the Council sends Ariom, an astro-alchemist, to Atlantis. High Priest Atum-Ra provides Ariom with a cloned human body, allowing him to live as a mortal. His ethereal companions, Boomzey and Twizie, remain at his side as he learns Atlantean culture and begins the search for the Seven Andarean Orbs-relics he hid at the end of the Lemurian age. These orbs can open vast wormholes for transporting fleets-or trigger cataclysmic destruction.
Mara steals the Red Orb, and then she leaves several monstrous guardians to kill Ariom while he is trapped in the cavern system. Ariom survives and retrieves the remaining six orbs. After retrieving the last orb, Mara's assassins kill Ariom's physical form and imprison his soul in the darkest corner of the Astral Plane.
Mara, disguised as Atum-Ra, steals the orbs back during the high priest's absence at the Great Crystal Pyramid of the Pleiades.
Rescued by allies, Ariom takes a new body as a baby. He learns from a shaman to command the elements and open interdimensional portals with a sacred Quipu.
When Mara kidnaps the real Atum-Ra and one of Ariom's companions, Ariom rescues them from an interdimensional prison. Amid these trials, he falls in love with Kamaria, a divine emissary. They marry, and she becomes pregnant with twins. Hope rises-until Mara ambushes Ariom, kills his body, and escapes. Kamaria offers her body to Ariom, revealing her pregnancy, and he agrees, forced to learn life in a woman's body and motherhood.
Mara escalates his campaign, launching a full invasion of Atlantis and activating the Gate of Doom-constructed by pulverizing the Orbs and mixing them with neutron star matter. This weapon will create a black hole to consume Earth and its surrounding star systems. In the climactic battle, Ariom pilots a starship to confront Mara at the Gate. He destroys it with his celestial sword, Utulkar, but both he and Mara are pulled into the Void.
Ariom emerges from the Void in a new cloned body, only to discover that Mara, before vanishing, unleashed the Orgone Energy Virus on Earth-a weapon that will one day drive humanity to destroy itself. The war continues, and Ariom's mission is far from over.
