Chapter Three reflects upon the incomplete decolonization and democratization process in Latin America and Brazil. Chapter Four presents a synthesis of the evidence from literature on the implications of housing on social distancing effectiveness among people living in substandard housing units in Ghana. Chapter Five describes the Siberian Tatars, a unique indigenous people of Western Siberia. Chapter Six shows how the institutional norms and practices in orthopedics and surgery are gendered and create structures of inequalities for women doctors. Chapter Seven explores how empowerment and emancipation among high-risk marginalized populations can transpire in a practical context by examining a community-based peer outreach project among commercial sex workers in India called the Sonagachi Project.
