But Farrow has an underbelly of secrets, lies and hurt all of which are forced into the open when the Hogan family buy their new home to get away from the crime and anxiety of their present place of residence. Little did they or most people in the small community know what terrors were perpetrated in the Farrow house. How an evil man could use a mother and her child for his own sick ends and in the process cause a series of events that would shock the small town. Of the few who are aware of the building's disgusting dark secret one is still alive but is in prison for the murder of Edward, the boy he abused and allowed to be abused. Another is locked up in her own crazed mind, living in a place of care for the mentally deranged and ill and then there is Edward who lies dead in an unmarked grave that has never been found. There are others in Farrow who know but they keep what really happened in the strange looking building buried deep. When the Hogan family moves in, Edward sees an opportunity to exact his revenge on his abusers. As Peter and Donna are subjected to horrific visions and assaults, their daughter Abby becomes the catalyst for Edward to seek out and kill those who made his short life an abused misery. Abby is the link he needs, a person who is of a similar age to him when he was alive and a person who he can easily communicate with and manipulate to do his bidding. The home will take all three to places unimaginable and will threated to not only tear the loving family apart, but put them in such a dark place that they may never recover from it.
