"What a great book! I simply could not put it down. There's mystery and then again, there's touches of tenderness in the community and on the workforce of the County Sheriff's Office. That's a wide spaced story-line! Sheriff Maggie Doane worked hard every day to get the work done and prove she could do it; her Poppo had been the former Sheriff and now ran a ranch nearby while helping her with paperwork; she was a local so knew the good and bad of the town; and, there was her first love that she never forgot. This book is the story of conflict as well as the men who did not want a woman Sheriff. I highly recommend this book and love that I found this author." - Marlene
"I'm not entirely sure what it was that caught my attention in an early draft of this book but I was instantly hooked by the story. I wanted to read more. More about this strong Sheriff out in the middle of nowhere, more about the independent folks who know what community is all about, more about what makes this place tick. Definitely glad I could spend more time in this story and following along with Maggie as she works to discover what's going on in her small town all the while trying to keep the peace between it's citizens." - Teri

JT Hume started life as a rambling man. Born in El Paso while his US Army parents were stationed in Texas, he's been boots-dry in forty-plus states and lived in three countries. He's a proud Nevadan and product of the Silver State's K12 and higher education system, and he proudly served in the United States Air Force.
The best decision he ever made was when he asked Cassidy Carson to marry him. The jury is still out on whether accepting said proposal was Cassidy's best decision.
JT Hume's books are formed from his knowledge and interest in politics, government, and Nevada. His characters are pushed through strategies honed over many years of playing bad chess. You might say his books are flavored with the love and romance he's shared with his soulmate over their decades together.
