When confronted by curious building maintenance custodians they simply explain that they are there to service the units. In some cases the maintenance personnel take exception. In one case they infiltrate an iconic government building, they gain access easily because the mindset of the institution within its walls believe they are invincible. That complacent attitude is all Ansir needs to win.
A police officer looking to supplement his income with a second job is recruited and set up as a distraction. Ansir placed him in one of the teams. When the inevitable investigation discovers his involvement, it adds to the confusion.
Detective Nicole Kegan bumps into one of the teams at her precinct headquarters in downtown Minneapolis. Her instincts kick in and she becomes suspicious about the service technicians in her building. That curiosity gets her so close to Ansir again.
The harmless "Air Fresheners" they install in the Heating and Air Conditioning units are not what they seem.
