Located in the heart of Yarmouth's heritage residential district, the museum is housed in is former church as well as two historic houses and operates a summer display in the restored Killam Brothers Shipping Office on the Yarmouth waterfront. The Museum has won numerous awards for exceptional museum and archival work. The Yarmouth County Museum (c. 1892-3) is on the Canadian Register of Historic Places.
