What better time to travel to the homeland, searching for the truth that could bring Kane back to me and maybe fix what I'd ruined with my best friend. Not the kind of trouble that came with fangs, but instead in the form of old friends and warm hospitality...sneaking under our defenses like any wicked magic would do. Italy was filled with foes. We just wouldn't see them coming until it was too late. We quickly learned the scholars had been busy, that they'd destroyed all evidence of my future. The scrolls that told how my story would end were all gone. With that goal obliterated, in its place came two brothers who thought they had a solution-one that came with blood and war...two things that sounded pretty damn appealing to a frustrated queen like myself and especially if it came with wiping the game board clean, removing the corruption of our werewolf world and getting me what I wanted most, power that came with the completion of my triad of werewolf bonds. I needed to figure out who to trust, how to get Kane back and biting, fix what I'd broken with Ruby and somehow, at the same time, navigate ancient magic, wily mayhem and a country where nothing was as it seemed.
