Wounded Dove is the true story of an immigrant family pursuing a dream to own land a home of their own. Their determination and faith help them overcome prejudice, a polio epidemic that cripples one of their children, and economic setbacks. Their physically disabled child does not choose to stay meekly at home as expected by people in the early 1900s. She wants education, a career, independence, respect, and love. Although her courage leads her to overcome obstacles, her naivete leads her into dangers she never expected.
