Despite the possible consequences of rebellion and dangers of being a runaway, Zook concocts a suspenseful plan of vengeance and escape with the help of Vibia, the housekeeper of the Wainwright mansion. Through a deepening bond of friendship and loyalty, Zook and Vibia risk their very existence to achieve freedom. If Zook and Vibia are able to execute their plan, dangers and challenges beyond the plantation will await them. And perhaps more concerning: Can Zook overcome any and all obstacles to reunite with his family?
