Her distrust builds as they return to Central, the surface, and they begin to pursue a mafia known as the Adne Family. This Family is after one thing and one thing only - ancient and powerful Celestial technology. Whoever controls the Celestial treasures controls the world. When a chance comes to go to an auction where precious Celestial artifacts and technology are up for bid in front of the world's richest and most powerful, both Evander and Madeleine are dragged into the chaos.
