Jesus tells us to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mk 12:30). Is that possible? What does that even look like? Can it truly be a joyful experience? It is something that we may struggle to comprehend, much less feel. Jesus tells us to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mk 12:30). Is that possible? What does that even look like? Can it truly be a joyful experience? It is something that we may struggle to comprehend, much less feel. And many Christians are finding it hard to read, understand and follow what the Bible says about loving God because of our state of fallenness. Can a man's relationship with a dog have something to teach us about loving our Master? In the Bible, we see that God uses references to many everyday things. He speaks of the harvest, the vine, water, bread, deer, sparrows and the list goes on. In fact, He refers to Himself as a Lion and also a Lamb. He even took the form of a man to help us understand who He is. And Jesus did talk about dogs when He walked on earth. Skeptical? This book is based on my life with a five-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever name Truffle. This is not pet theology or apawlogetic (woof!) but a book of dog analogies to remind us that we have a loving Master, One who is most worthy of our love. May you be blessed reading it as much as I have been blessed writing it.
