He knows that the most likely scenario for destruction of Earth and all species will result from human leaders' failure to understand and explain what needs to be done. He recommends, like many before him, that the United States should set an example by giving its people, and all of the people in the world, free contraceptives to empower women, raise billions out of poverty, and reduce our human population painlessly from its nearly 8 billion today to 2 billion by 2100.
