At the session layer, the user can implement Real-time Transport Protocol(RTP) and Session Description Protocol (SDP) for real-time data transmission between two call parties. At the transport layer, the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) is used for the transmission of audio data.

Autor

Rizwan Ali obtained his graduate degree in software engineering from Air University, Pakistan in 2010. Since then he has worked in different organizations on real-time systems and java based enterprise systems. He has also worked on research oriented projects, including the implementation of new voice over IP protocols, such as H.248 (MEGACO).
