The theme of this book is violence in its articulation with symptoms in the contemporary context. The objective of our research was to investigate the relationship between violence and symptoms today from the perspective of Lacanian psychoanalysis. Our investigation allowed us to bring violence closer to the so-called new symptoms. Thus, based on the practices of speech and the politics of symptoms, as opposed to the politics of victimization, we sought to lead a subject, whether aggressor or victim, to question the violence that permeates them and turn it into an analytical symptom, subject to interpretation and as something that touches the unconscious. Our conclusion was that psychoanalysis can lead a subject to doubt violence as a passage to the act and turn it into an analytical symptom, as a saying addressed to the analyst, leading them to a change of position regarding their fantasy and jouissance.
