The present book provides an overall collections and services of BUL & usage statistics of their Journals. The introduction of electronic journals and UGC-INFONET consortium has made serials collection management more complex. Libraries may want to offer particular in print journals, but find that it is often financially feasible. Librarians have to choose online journals subscription, to determine the UGC-INFONET consortium to access the e-journals for faculties and research scholars awareness about this consortium. The study being conducted in Sciences, Social Sciences & Humanities subjects of BU & clearly reflect that the current scenario of e-resources awareness. This consortium has emerged as an essential tool to provide current information and also helps to libraries in collection development, preservation and fast retrieval of information. The study reveals that any services of the library must meet the needs of users and it is identified that Current Awareness Service & UGC-INFONET programme service are more useful for their study and research work in order to meet their academic needs.The libraries should provide the efficient services to the users.

Autor

Ms. Rajani is working as Professional Assistant in Bangalore University Library, Bangalore, Karnataka State (India). She obtained her M.L.I.Sc., PGDLAN.,in Library and Information Science from IGNOU, New Delhi. The content of this book is a pioneering work of her M.L.I.Sc Project. Presently she is pursuing for her Ph.D.program from RCU Belgaum.
