In 2008 the institution derived the status as a university and received the right to offer doctoral programs in addition to Bachelor's and Master's programs according to the Bologna process. This included further extensions of the university and research programs with other universities.About 1,200 students are studying at the university. Students and lecturers from more than 40 countries and about 80 partnership agreements with universities worldwide are an expression of the international setting. The very personal study and work environment is another characteristic.
