English literature has been one of his abiding passions, and he has read and written poetry since early adult life. His poems reflect his interest in the natural world, wildlife conservation, fly fishing and our distant past. The poems in this collection were mostly written between 2019 and 2022. They span the range of poetic styles Stephen has used in recent years. He and his wife live in Salisbury, in England's West Country, and many of the poems describe or are inspired by the landscapes of the region.
