Gerald Thomas earned a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in 1985, majoring in Broadcasting and has worked at radio stations in Michigan in various roles both on and off the air. In 1993 he answered God's Call to public ministry and graduated in 1997 from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, earning a Master's Degree in Divinity (M.Div). He has served in chaplaincy roles in hospitals, nursing homes, a domestic violence shelter, youth homes, and has served congregations in Texas. Currently, he is serving multiple life sentences in the Texas prison system, where he is once again learning how to serve God's people.
