It analyzes in depth the concept of "Materiality" in a trial to map out its historical and theoretical background in order to understand its manifestation in Contemporary Architecture. An analytical Methodology is used to interpret the phenomenon of "Materiality in Architecture" following a relative analogical analysis provided by Oleg Grabar, in his book ''The Mediation of Ornament'' (Princeton University Press, 1989).
