The light of the tunnel, one day, will lead to eternal light where we shall live forever. Although, now it appears as if we are looking through a glass darkly, as we look towards eternity. That glass is filled with holes. The glass will be cleaned, holes removed, and we shall, one day see things as clearly as Christ sees them. We shall understand the reason why things had to be so, 1 Corinthians 13:11,12.
