It further emphasizes the need to not only determine the hourly, daily and annual levels of particulate matter for compliance with air quality standards; but to also determine the chemical and physical properties of atmospheric pollutants; to estimate the emitting sources, and evaluate the health effects on the exposed community, as well as to assess the environmental impacts when developing a monitoring procedure and system.
