He was a wicket keeper.For most of his early career, Bailey was an understudy to the regular long serving Wicket keeper, David Ripley. When David retired in 2001, Bailey took the first team duties for 3 years until Gerard Brophy arrived in 2004 and took his place due to him having the better Batting abilities. Toby was released at the end of that season.
