However, her past demons, such as alcohol and the consequences of her casual hookups at bars and house parties, come back to haunt her. As she tries to better herself, she's confronted by conflicts with her mom over her lack of commitment to finishing university. Meanwhile, Gabriel tries to help her confront her past and deal with her issues, but it's not always easy. An unexpected consequence and a stressful situation cause Marie to relapse and reconsider as she strives for a better future.
