This paper presents the pedagogical and financial proposal for the design, development and application of the course "Digital Games as a Didactic Tool", which is intended to be offered at a distance to primary and secondary school teachers. The objective of this is to present the guidelines, schedule and costs of the course in question in order to make its production and application feasible. In addition, this monograph is the result of the Instructional Design in Virtual Distance Education course, as it brings nuances of all the material studied throughout the training. At first, the current scenario of distance education in Brazil is commented, then the course is presented, addressing its general and specific aspects, such as the importance of the theme for the target audience; pedagogical approach; types of activities; and forms of course evaluation. Then, the planning resources used by the instructional designer in the elaboration of the project are presented: activity map, design matrix and storyboard; and the differentials of this one in relation to others of its kind. The risks and solutions are presented, as well as the role of the Instructional Designer in this context.
