Kevin Pilkington's poetry collection, Spare Change (1997) won the La Jolla Poets Press National Book Award, Ready to Eat the Sky (River City Press, 2004) was a finalist for an Independent Publishers Books Award and his chapbook, Getting By, was awarded the Ledge Poetry Prize. He is also the author of IN THE EYES OF A DOG (NYQ Books, 2009) and THE UNEMPLOYED MAN WHO BECAME A TREE (Black Lawrence Press, 2011). His poems have appeared in many anthologies including Birthday Poems: A Celebration, Western Wind, Contemporary Poetry of New England and a wide variety of journals, including The New York Quarterly, Poetry, Ploughshares, Iowa Review, Boston Review, Yankee, Columbia, Greensboro Review, and The Valparaiso Review. A four-time Pushcart Prize nominee, he is a member of the full-time writing faculty at Sarah Lawrence College and teaches a workshop in the graduate program at Manhattanville College.
