Through fear, sin, judgment, defense, separation, attack, and sacrifice, the word "sin" means separation, and that is the origin of the ego. Thus, at the beginning of the separation we believe that we were not with God but rather separated from God the creator. We believe that we are autonomous beings in relation to our God.
