Some of them practice it continuously. Some of them regularly read in their mother tongue. The others get diverted from reading by the advanced sources of entertainment like smart phone, television and so on. The author feels that the curriculum as practiced in the institutions does not give much importance for self-reading. Self-reading must be given importance and to be practiced in curriculum. That¿s what induces the author to publish the study as a book and to throw light on it.
